Publishing Ethics
Basic Principles
The Agricultural Science and Practice journal strictly adheres to publishing standards of the COPE Code of Conduct, approved by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Editorial Policy
The editorial board reserves the right to:
- Make reductions and editorial changes to articles while preserving the main conclusions and the author’s style;
- Reject manuscripts that do not meet established requirements, the journal’s subject matter, or contain a significant number of spelling and stylistic errors;
- Maintain the confidentiality of reviewers’ identities;
- Require authors to adhere to the principle of manuscript originality (materials cannot be simultaneously published in other journals).
The author bears full responsibility for the originality of the article text. In cases of plagiarism detection, the responsibility lies with the author.
Opinions expressed in published articles may not coincide with the position of the editorial board. Reprinting and translation of articles are permitted only with the consent of the editorial office and the authors.
Publication Ethics
Adherence to ethical principles is a fundamental basis for editorial work and the review process. Prevention of unfair practices, such as data falsification, plagiarism, and other violations, is the responsibility of all participants in the publication process: authors, editors, reviewers, publishers, and scientific institutions.
Authors’ Obligations
Authors are responsible for adhering to the following principles:
- They should provide reliable results of conducted research without using falsified data;.
- They should guarantee the originality of research results;
- They should properly cite used materials with explicit reference to primary sources;
- They should not submit to the editorial office a manuscript that is under consideration by another journal or has already been published.
Copyright Protection
Article texts, tables, graphic materials, and formulas are protected by copyright law.
The editorial board categorically condemns manifestations of plagiarism as a violation of copyright and scientific ethics and takes all possible measures to prevent it. In cases of plagiarism detection, authors bear responsibility.
Authors are responsible for the accuracy of facts, quotations, proper names, geographical names, institution names, and other information provided in the article.
Manuscript Verification Procedures
The editorial board applies systematic procedures to detect unfair practices, including:
- Checking manuscripts for originality;
- Multi-level peer review;
- Involving industry experts to assess data reliability;
- Continuous monitoring of publications even after their release.
Conflict of Interest
The journal’s editorial board requires authors to provide information about the absence of conflicts of interest. If there is a potential conflict of interest that may affect the interpretation of results or the judgment of reviewers, authors are obliged to report it. Authors bear full responsibility for disclosing all potential conflicts of interest that may affect the objectivity of manuscript evaluation and the decision on its publication.
Responsibility of Editors and Reviewers
The editor and any member of the editorial board and/or reviewer should not consider manuscripts if conflicts of interest arise from joint, competitive, or other relationships with any author or institution associated with the manuscript.
The editor is obliged to require all participants in the publication process to disclose relevant competing interests. If a conflict of interest is discovered after publication, the editorial office publishes necessary corrections. If needed, an article retraction or expression of concern may be published.
When evaluating scientific articles, reviewers are responsible for adhering to the principles of objectivity, professionalism, impartiality, and confidentiality.
Publication Retraction Policy
The journal follows clear procedures for retracting publications in cases of serious violations, including:
- Proven facts of data falsification;
- Detection of significant plagiarism;
- Multiple publications of the same work;
- Unresolved ethical issues in research involving humans or animals.
When retracting a publication, the journal provides a public notification about the reasons for retraction to maintain the integrity of scientific literature.
